In spring 2025 our friends at UAnimals twice called on volunteers to come and help at Free Wings. The first clean-up day was planned for Saturday, 22 March, and the second for Saturday, 31 May. Both times the work was planned in two places at once: here with us and at the Kasova Hora rehabilitation centre in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. In the May invitation UAnimals introduced some of our residents: goldfinches, siskins, turtle doves, jays, barn owls, jackdaws, bullfinches, waxwings, several kinds of parrots, geese and owls. More than 300 rescued birds in total.Volunteers were invited to help clean up and tidy the grounds. All the tools and materials needed were to be provided on site, and UAnimals arranged transport and coordinated those coming by car. After the work, guided tours of the centres were planned for the participants.Days like these matter a great deal to us: caring for hundreds of birds takes many hands every day, and every bit of help with the grounds gives us more time for treatment. Thank you to UAnimals and to everyone who answers these calls.Sources: UAnimals, Галка.
