Bubochka: the parrot who was found a safe home

A young couple joined the Armed Forces and left their parrot in the care of Free Wings. Bubochka is waiting for her people.

Bubochka is an Alexandrine parakeet who came to Free Wings for temporary care from a young couple from Synelnykove. Her owners made a hard but deliberate decision: to join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Their home district of Synelnykove lies close to the front line, and defending their own home and their own land became a civic duty for them.At the same time, they could not leave Bubochka to fend for herself. So, as they set off to defend Ukraine, they placed their beloved bird in the care of Free Wings.Bubochka is safe now, receiving proper care and waiting for her people. It matters to them to know that someone is waiting at home, even if that someone has feathers, a beak and a very small heart. At Free Wings we help people not to abandon those they are responsible for. While Ukrainians defend our country, we can look after the ones they have had to leave in our care.Bubochka is exactly that kind of story. A story of trust, of responsibility, and of waiting for someone to come back.
